Mock Trial

How would your staff cope in the witness box? Let’s find out.

The comfort zone is not where we operate. If you want real change you cannot just test the edges.

We challenge your audience in the “relative comfort” of a simulated Court Case – introducing them to a never-before experience.

We “punish the guilty and keep the innocent nervous” – to help you ratchet compliance to the next level.

We don’t use scare tactics – this is a reality check. An opportunity to authentically reflect on knowledge, attitudinal and application gaps.

As you know, the greater the dislocation between your prescribed systems and the customary practices of work, the bigger your exposure.

Our programs quickly demonstrate that gap risk and highlight what workers, line managers (and above) should be doing about it.

Training is conducted in an actual court room (or on-site) and we simulate a case that typically relates back to failures at a system, leadership and engagement level.

Instruction is a mixture of up-front discussion around critical distinctions gleaned from over 20 years of legal and practical experience and putting your staff in the witness box for real-time testing.

The “case” is developed in collaboration with you to ensure we incorporate your key issues and concerns, in an operational context relevant to the group.

Typical class sizes are 25-35, although in a conference environment we have presented to significantly larger audiences.

The top 8 reasons why clients buy our Mock Court program

Graphical divider

1. The client requires “someone else” to reinforce and validate what they already say to staff.

2. The client is looking for an innovative way to convey the reasons for, and consequences of, poor risk management.

3. The client feels that taking their staff to Court would be a new and useful perspective.

4. The client needs to incite a sense of urgency and vulnerability before something goes wrong.

5. The client has observed their risk and compliance programs have plateaued and they need a catalyst to provoke constructive, authentic conversations around risk.

6. The client has mature systems, but struggles to get high standards of actual compliance with policies and procedures, due to either a knowledge or attitudinal gap.

7. The client would benefit from their staff “unplugging” for a few hours and getting taken outside their comfort zones to protect against complacency creeping into the operation.

8. The client is running out of ideas on how else to train and is looking for “something different”.
